There is a sign posted on the door of Willie Sue’s Food for the Soul on Columbia Road in Grovetown. It says “Closed for Vacation until July 21st.” Unfortunately, that date has come and gone and the buzz is the owner of Willie Sue’s is trying to sell his business.

He inherited the lease a few years back from Chuck Baldwin’s son Matt and tried to resurrect some old family recipes in the restaurant.  His family built up the Po Folks chain many years ago and was famous for homestyle cooking with a pair of sides, roll, and drink.  In 2010, the owner of Willie Sue’s expanded and added another space in the plaza, which is on the outside of the Ivy Falls Subdivision. There is a Mexican restaurant and a Subway in the plaza as well.
