1:45pm — Leah Gransberry is the director of Marketing and Sales for “RELYLOCAL”.  She and her hubby (Craig) ventured to start “RelyLocal” Martinez and Evans as a way to bridge the gap between their passion for supporting local communities and operating their own business.  Leah and Craig have been avid community volunteers but as they both finished their MBAs, they wanted to own their own business but they were concerned with starting a business in the current economy. They brainstormed, and figured they could help those already in business to be successful and offer them an exciting, cost-effective means to market, thus stimulating our local economy.
RelyLocal, LLC is headquartered in Redmond, Oregon.

Today’s Buzz: The Place on Broad Street Closes

The downtown Augusta building that formerly housed the White Elephant and most recently, “The Place on Broad” is dark—and will likely be closed for a while. Vance Shimley had an owner\operator arrangement with a food service professional to take care of the business. That person decided it wasn’t going to work and closed the doors of the building. Shimley had been away in business in Tennesee.

Shimley operates Nu Roofs Residential Roofing in Augusta.
