1:20pm – - CHRISTOPHER MALLARD, president of the Road Knights & JEREMY WHITMORE, the director of the georgia/ Carolina boyscouts of America will join you in the studio. They’ll be chatting about an upcoming charity event they are holding for the Georgia-Carolina Council, Boy Scouts of America!
The history of the Road Knights of Augusta is a charity group formed for the people of Augusta and the surrounding areas. They share the common interest of motorcycling, promoting motorcycle safety, and bringing the community together. Their main focus, however, is to promote unity within the community and to support the less fortunate, organizations in need, and non profit groups.
They are holding their 1st Annual public (open to anyone) motorcycle ride (Saturday, May 21st) for the Georgia-Carolina Council, BSA. Their goal is to raise at least $5,000 for the Georgia-Carolina, BSA! This ride is being held on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Riders may register the day of the ride and cash will only be accepted then along with checks. There is a $25.00 Registration fee that can be paid in advance (If pre-registering, please mail payments to: BSA Georgia-Carolina Council, ATTN: Jeremy Whitmore, 1450 Green Street, Suite 150, Augusta, Georgia 30901) or on the day of the ride. On-site registration will begin at 0800 and end at 1000. Prior to the ride we will hold a Safety and route briefing at 1030 with kickstands up at 1100.
Fee includes: One (1) Grab bag containing various items donated from Harley-Davidson of Augusta, one (1) patch, one (1) door prize ticket, one (1) meal ticket for lunch catered by Chef Jeff from Garlic Clove Italian Eatery, Coffee supplied by Bean Baskette Coffee, and Doughnuts supplied by Daylight Doughnuts
